Data Architect - Healthcare - Contract to Hire
The Data Architect role is a Contract to Hire opportunity offering the chance to drive meaningful impact by designing and delivering modern, production-ready data solutions. In this role, you'll be at the center of integrating diverse data sources to support strategic business goals. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data and analytics initiatives are aligned with organizational priorities and built for long-term success.

  • Partner with business and technical teams to gather and translate requirements into scalable data architecture plans.
  • Design and build both multidimensional and tabular data models to support advanced analytics and reporting.
  • Establish and champion best practices for database design, ETL/ELT development, and performance optimization.
  • Lead the design and development of robust ETL processes, ensuring reliability, scalability, and scheduling best practices.
  • Develop architectural frameworks to support seamless data solutions across applications, platforms, and systems.
  • Document architecture and provide analysis to guide teams toward strategic technical decisions.
  • Collaborate across business and IT functions to deliver impactful solutions aligned with KPIs and business success metrics.

Qualifications 
Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role.
  • Background in roles such as Data Architect, Data Scientist, or Data Engineer.
  • Experience in healthcare or insurance services is required.
  • Strong background in data warehousing, data architecture, data vault, and business intelligence.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (Microsoft Azure, Snowflake preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of data pipelines and modern data architecture trends.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in enterprise data technologies (ETL tools, SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, data lakes, MDM solutions).
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Understanding of data lifecycle management, data governance, and security best practices.
  • Preferred exposure to the Microsoft Azure BI and Analytics Stack and Snowflake.
  • Solid hands-on experience with data warehouse modeling methodologies.
  • Experience in predictive analytics, data mining, and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with real-time and batch data pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of FHIR standards.
Required Competencies:
  • Demonstrates payer industry-specific knowledge of business processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to lead teams across diverse domains.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of product management, agile principles, and development methodologies.

Work Environment: 

  • Remote work from home. 
  • Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday. Specific business hours will depend on client needs. 

Physical Demands: 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. 
  • The person in this position must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, library stacks, office machinery, etc. 
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer. 
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with clients and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
