Senior Data Governance Consultant - Full-time
The Senior Consultant in Data Governance will lead consulting engagements, working with clients to architect and execute comprehensive data governance strategies. This role involves deep expertise in data governance, lifecycle management, data security, risk management, and cybersecurity, with the ability to navigate complex environments and provide expert guidance to clients and junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of robust data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices across client organizations.
- Drive initiatives in data lifecycle management, establishing strategies for data retention, archiving, and secure disposal.
- Conduct risk assessments and advise clients on data security strategies, ensuring alignment with both regulatory requirements and organizational goals.
- Provide thought leadership in data governance and cybersecurity by staying current on industry trends, frameworks, and emerging threats.
- Mentor and support junior consultants, offering guidance on best practices and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Work closely with client executives to communicate data governance strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data security, risk management, or cybersecurity consulting, with demonstrated expertise in client-facing roles.
- Advanced understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), data lifecycle management, and security protocols.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and their implications on data security and governance.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in consulting projects with a track record of successful client engagement.
- Certifications such as CDMP, CISA, CISSP, or similar preferred but not required.
Work Environment:
- Remote work from home.
- Hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday. Specific business hours will depend on client needs.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- The person in this position must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, library stacks, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with clients and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
