Responsibilities
To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Lead structured discovery workshops with client engineering and product leadership to elicit, document, and validate business and technical requirements across data platform and technology workstreams.
Compile and maintain detailed requirements matrices documenting data types, system interfaces, processing frequencies, and dependency classifications across source systems and downstream consumers.
Own scope tracking and MVP boundary management — document, log, and protect agreed scope as it is confirmed with client stakeholders, ensuring any changes are captured through formal change control processes.
Consolidate and maintain business glossaries, metadata standards documentation, and data governance artifacts, coordinating with architects and data leads to ensure consistency and readiness for client handoff.
Act as the coordination bridge across concurrent workstreams, ensuring that data contracts, canonical definitions, and platform architecture decisions are reflected consistently across all active workstreams.
Facilitate technical feasibility workshops, track open questions and unresolved dependencies, and escalate risks to the project lead in a timely manner.
Translate complex technical architecture concepts into clear written requirements, functional specifications, and interaction models that can be validated by both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Support the Program Manager in maintaining the decision log, action item tracker, risk register, and stakeholder communication cadence across all active workstreams.
Produce clear, structured written artifacts throughout the engagement — requirements documents, workshop summaries, dependency logs, and scope protection records — that are used directly in client deliverables.
Assist with light project management responsibilities including milestone tracking, status reporting, and coordination of cross-team dependencies to keep delivery on schedule.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
5+ years of experience as a business analyst or requirements analyst on data, analytics, or technology platform engagements, preferably within a consulting or professional services environment.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate structured discovery workshops with technical and non-technical stakeholders and produce clear, usable requirements artifacts from those sessions.
Experience with AWS data platform engagements preferred — familiarity with cloud data architecture concepts such as medallion lakehouse patterns, data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality practices is a strong plus.
Exposure to AWS services (S3, Glue, Redshift, DataZone, Lake Formation) in a project context is preferred; hands-on implementation experience is not required but direct AWS familiarity strengthens the candidate’s ability to contribute from day one.
Light project management experience including milestone tracking, action item management, status reporting, and dependency coordination across multi-workstream engagements.
Strong written communication skills with a proven ability to produce structured documentation — requirements documents, functional specifications, scope logs, and workshop summaries — suitable for direct use in client deliverables.
Ability to manage context across multiple concurrent workstreams and serve as an information bridge between separate technical teams working on related but distinct problems.
Comfortable operating in a Phase 0 or architecture-and-planning engagement mode — producing planning and requirements artifacts rather than delivering production systems.
Familiarity with emerging technology domains such as edge computing, IoT, or AI/ML systems is a plus but not required.
Excellent stakeholder management and organizational skills, with the ability to track open questions, decisions, and dependencies across a fast-moving consulting engagement.
If you are a driven Technical Business Analyst with strong data platform experience, a talent for translating complex technical problems into clear requirements, and the organizational discipline to keep multiple workstreams aligned and on track, we invite you to apply.
